I got my driver's license!

Two Weeks Ago...

Two weeks ago
     I closed the bathroom door.
Two weeks ago
     I took off my shorts, but nothing else.
Two weeks ago
     I turned on the bathtub water.
Two weeks ago
     I watched as the water reached the top.
Two weeks ago
     I turned off the bathtub water.
Two weeks ago
     I stepped into the bath water
Two weeks ago
     I laid down in the water, my head dry.
Two weeks ago
     I tried not to think of those back home.
Two weeks ago
     I didn't think I would be here.
Two weeks ago

Heart Breaking

Father's Day is today and it's just a weird day now.  Just last year my brother's normal life ended on Father's Day.  It's heart breaking to think that his first official Father's Day was downtown at the county jail.  Jay'Lamon is as cute as can be and is already almost one.  My brother has had to watch him grow up through a glass over this year.  Will it be the same for 30 more years?
